A High School Workshop
Age: 13-19
Time: 1-4 hrs
Number of Students: 5-40
This workshop is specifically designed as a guide for vocal auditions. Each student should come prepared with a song and notebook. The group works together, listening to mock auditions and critiquing as an audience taking a deeper look at lyrics, musicality and character. Students leave with a stronger understanding of the voice audition and a new sense of self awareness.

A High School Workshop

This workshop is a great way to introduce young dancers, actors and singers to the world of choreography. Starting with the basics, the group works together or in smaller groups to create their fist dance. Each student will leave with a kit of creative tools designed to: dig deeper into lyrics, express plot/emotions with the whole body and understand music in a visual sense.

In this workshop students will learn all about the college or university audition for performance programs in Canada and the USA. These auditions are much different than auditioning for theatre or film and cover a much larger range of skills. Students should be prepared with a song and come with questions ready.

Number of Students: 5-15
In this workshop students learn the basics of improv and how it benefits all aspects of performance. This particular skill can best be developed over time, so at least three sessions are recommended. Students will leave with a stronger sense of self, a new understanding of stage presence, timing, and being in the moment.

In this workshop, students learn how to create a musical number from A to Z. The group will work together discovering the fundamentals of musical comedy, timing, integrating song and dance, establishing strong characters and interesting movement. Students will walk away with tools they can use in individual performance, leadership skills, a strengthened appreciation for music theatre and a complete musical number, ready for performance.

Looking for a vocal coach?
Kathryn Ballantine is now accepting new students for private voice coaching!
As a trained, award winning vocalist, Kathryn has been dedicating some time every week to teach and inspire young people to sing from their hearts. Raised by a composer, she and her father Len Ballantine have travelled the world with his music. Kathryn is looking for excited students ready to try something new and find their voice.
Weekly lessons are available for the 2010/2011 September to June school year and back-to-back lessons are available to prep for upcoming concerts, competitions, auditions and solos.
Kathryn offers an complimentary lesson to ensure compatability.

The Role Players was established in the summer of 2010 by newly married Kyle and Kathryn Higgins. It is a company designed to provide quality role players for any business seeking to train and inspire their employees in a way proven successful time and time again;role play.
Using trained professionals to guide employees through simulated client relations,
real life experiences take place in a controlled environment.
