Kathryn Ballantine Now Teaches Dance At Tandem Studios

Located at Lawrence and Yonge in uptown Toronto, Tandem Studios is a wonderful facility where children of all ages come to learn to dance. It s suitably named as it is a studio which allows for parents to workout while their kids take a variety of dance classes. Kathryn Ballantine will be teaching at Tandem Studios on Mondays and Tuesdays starting the week of September 7th, 2009. Located at 3300 Yonge St, Tandem is expanding this year to the use of three studio spaces. Tandem studios is also launching their performance troupe for the 2009/2010 season for those dancers interested in pursuing a career in dance performance. Students will travel and perform at various events around Toronto and the surrrounding area.

Erin McFadden opened this innovative studio in 2007, less than a decade after she graduated from Sheridan College for Music Theatre Performance. She has performed in musical theatre all over Canada, most notably Mirvish’s production of Mamma Mia. As a dancer, Erin has appeared in world class venues such as the Skydome and the Winter Garden Theatre in down town Toronto.
What is the most rewarding part of teaching children to dance?
Seeing them develop their creativity and passion for dance. Through dance they are able to express their individuality and happiness and seeing each child’s unique personality emerge and flourish is the reason I love to teach. It gives students a chance to express themselves and become comforable with who they are and not affraid to be extroverted all while setting a pattern for health and fitness for years to come.
